Park Seo-jin's Sudden Health Crisis: A Condition Linked to Cerebral Infarction

"Salim Man" presented the narrative of Park Seo-jin's family, who were taken aback by their father's health condition, along with Lee Min-woo's genuine effort to stop smoking, offering audiences a strong sense of connection and compassion.

On KBS 2TV's "Living Men Season 2" (hereinafter referred to as "Living Men"), which aired on the 22nd, an episode featuring Lee Min-woo, who first disclosed Park Seo-jin's father's brain health test results and wedding date, was broadcast. The program achieved a national viewership rating of 4.2% according to Nielsen Korea. The scene where Park Seo-jin received his father's brain health examination results via phone at the airport before departing for an overseas trip recorded the highest viewership of 5.7%.

On this day's episode, the group Baby Don't Cry Lee made an appearance as a special guest. Additionally, when Ji Sang-ryul made his first studio appearance in a long time, MC Lee, who had been captivated by his daily life through VCR recordings, couldn't conceal his excitement. When asked about the status of his relationship with Shin Boram, Ji Sang-ryeol said, "It's moving like a maple leaf." His response caused the studio to erupt in excitement. When Park Seo-jin joked, "If you paint maple leaves, don't they fall off?" Ji Sang-ryul became flustered but laughed it off.

In the next VCR, Park Seo-jin said, "I think there's something wrong with my father's brain." Everyone was surprised when it was revealed that they had sent emergency texts to the production team, informing them of the critical situation. Because of the sudden contact, the production team quickly went to check on Park Seo-jin.

Concerning the health condition of Park Seo-jin's father, the doctor stated, "A cerebrovascular is entirely blocked. The current situation is not unusual when a cerebral infarction occurs. Major blood vessels are completely obstructed." Consider this degree of vascular narrowing as having a time bomb in your brain. If treatment isn't administered promptly, lasting consequences may follow. Upon hearing this news, Park Seo-jin said, "I could be someone who might never be seen again, and I couldn't grasp things or felt dizzy because I only focused on extreme thoughts. What's really happening?" he admitted truthfully.

When she had to relocate to a higher-level hospital for comprehensive testing, Park Seo-jin felt burdened by memories of her mother being diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer at just 17 years old. Upon hearing this from his father, he thought, "Why does this keep happening to me?" and began resenting everything without cause. He moved and tried to perform well, but he questioned what he would do if his father wasn't by his side, he admitted, revealing his discomfort.

It was also disclosed that the family delayed sharing the news due to concerns for Park Seo-jin. Park Seo-jin only found out about his father a few days later. He mentioned that he told me late because he was worried I would be concerned and care too much, but I was actually very upset," he admitted. This caused tensions with her younger brother Hyojung. Park Seo-jin, who couldn't be by her side at the hospital because his father was performing overseas on the day of the test, expressed regret towards Hyo-jung, saying, "I think I managed to calm my brother's anger toward me." He reflected, "I believed I could take good care of my family if things went well and I succeeded, but I ended up hating myself for not being able to do so," confessing his complex feelings.

Park Seo-jin found it difficult to face his father, who repeatedly claimed he was fine, out of fear that his son would become worried. The presence of his father, whose health could lead to a stroke at any moment, brought about a mix of anxiety and frustration. He expressed deep distress, saying, "I can't even film because of my father. I can't be a singer," with his words coming out in an emotional flood.

Then the father remembered his two deceased sons and said, "It doesn't hurt as much as the older brother. I wonder if I'll meet my two sons because I'm not feeling well," which surprised Park Seo-jin even more. Park Seo-jin remarked, "I'm worried that my dad might be sick or something could happen, so I can't do anything about it, but I wonder if he doesn't understand how I feel." At the same time, he expressed regret for not being able to go to the hospital with his father.

On the day of his father's medical test, every member of his family except Park Seo-jin went to the hospital. Park Seo-jin, who couldn't be there, carefully informed Hyo-jung about what needed to be prepared ahead of time and kept checking on the situation via phone. At that moment, Hyo-jung's mobile phone had her brother's name saved as 'My Prince,' while agent Lee had her husband listed as 'Honey.' However, when Eun Ji-won asked about the name he had stored for his wife, he mentioned his last name, saying, "I've done that for everyone." In response, Ji Sang-ryul created a pink mood by jokingly stating that he had saved Sin Boram as 'my anion' after adding, "Please add my brother."

Later, Park Seo-jin, who was anxious before leaving Japan for a while, learned the test results from his brother. Park Seo-jin's worry grew when the doctor mentioned that one carotid artery was blocked and that further tests were needed. Even after arriving in Japan, Park Seo-jin felt uneasy, saying, "I thought my dad might be going with the real brothers and that I couldn't sleep." However, the next day, when Park Seo-jin spoke to his father, he regained his composure after his father said, "To be good to your father is to perform on stage."

Meanwhile, Lee Min-woo and his wife experienced their first disagreement regarding quitting smoking before their second child was born. Lee Min-woo, who had promised to stop smoking, was discovered using e-cigarettes, leading him to decide to quit again after criticism from his wife and in-laws. During a smoking cessation session, Lee Min-woo admitted, "I used to smoke three to four packs a day," but demonstrated a sense of duty by pledging to "stop for my child and family."

Lee Min-woo visited Ko Chun-ja, a spiritual medium who provided guidance for the film 'Flood,' as suggested by his mother. The medium assessed the compatibility between Lee Min-woo and his wife, and a fortunate item was obtained. Due to his wife's influence, he gained attention after sharing a positive prophecy: "Thanks to my wife, my future work will be busy and my honor will be restored." Lee Min-woo then attracted attention by disclosing the wedding date for the first time on March 29th next year.

The shaman shared a vibrant tale, yet included guidance regarding the significant challenges faced by the 51-year-old from earlier. The shaman must be well beyond that stage. It is the child in the womb who will halt the negative energy. What a fortunate situation. Everything will work out well," he said, encouraging Lee Min-woo's fresh beginning.

Since that time, Lee Min-woo has been getting a Korean name suggestion for his 6-year-old daughter from a shaman. As soon as the daughter saw the name suggestion, she smiled, and Lee Min-woo's wife felt relieved to see her daughter considering the new name and being happy," he said, sharing his feelings. The family couldn't conceal their joy as they watched their daughter slowly adapting to life in Korea.

In this 'Salimnam', Park Seo-jin, who learned about his father's critical brain condition, was deeply distressed. However, Park Seo-jin's genuine effort to focus on his father's well-being moved people. Moreover, Lee Min-woo's transformation into a 'real homemaker' by beginning smoking cessation treatment for his wife and child, driven from within, garnered support from the audience.

Meanwhile, 'Salimnam' is broadcast every Saturday night at 10:35 p.m.
